1) Why use regional databases?

Region databases can be used for multiple purposes. In the case of geographic domains, data can be used to fill existing websites or as start up content for service directories, blogs, news sites, etc. For instance, let’s say you owned the domain [SomeCity]Resturants.com and wanted to list restaurants of different types found in the city for your directory. A regional database will prevent you from launching a blank website and save you time from manually entering data or approving requests one at a time.

Another example uses a domain similar to [SomeCity]Maps.com or [SomeService]Locator.com. Combined with regional databases, most web developers can use this data to develop mash ups of features using a provider’s API such as Google Maps.

2) How does RegionIQ obtain data for each database?

We obtain data from publicly available resources using a proprietary algorithm.

3) Can you provide regional databases for multiple zip codes, counties or entire states?

Yes. Please contact us to discuss your options.

4) How do I format data into an existing website?

The method you format data is up to you or your web developer specialized to work with your particular scripting language. Each database is delivered as an Excel file designed to provide the most flexibility for reformatting. As an alternative, we can provide the database in MYSQL format in addition to Excel.

5) Can you provide formats other than Excel or MYSQL?

Not at this time. By default, Excel should be able to convert data into other formats. Additionally, third party add-ons exist for other needed formats.

6) Do you provide help installing data to fit my needs?

Yes, but you must specify this option on the order form. Currently, we only provide installation help for files running on HTML or PHP and connect to MYSQL.

7) Can you provide me with a working website that includes my data?

In the future, we plan to provide templates and packages designed to provide certain default features that work with Wordpress, Joomla and other popular scripts. In the meantime, contact us to discuss your options.

8) How do you check for duplicates, mistakes, etc?

Each database is checked three times before delivered to the customer: twice by software and once by human eyes. Most, if not all, mistakes or duplicates are caught at the software level.
